ABOUT

Traditional empanadas are made by wrapping a soft, round circle of dough in half over fillings of meat, cheese, or vegetables. After baking, we’re left with a fluffy, savory pastry you can easily eat with your hands.

Although empanadas were invented by the Spanish more than 500 years ago, Latin America is where they were popularized, and today, Argentina is the country most famous for the dish.

Gringo Gordo offers eighteen styles of empanada, along with our famous house-made chimichurri sauce, a mixture of fresh herbs, garlic, vinegar, chili pepper, and olive oil.

In addition to our two Winchester, VA restaurants, we have a Purcellville, VA location, and plan on opening up many more throughout the DMV in the near future.
